FAQ

Where: 1341 West Baker Ave. Fullerton, CA 92833
When: Every Sunday at 2pm. Call Ted to confirm at 714-458-6577

The Burrito Project began over a year and a half ago after reading an article in “Bicycling Magazine”. The BP was started by a group of bicycle messengers in Los Angeles that wanted to serve the people on Skidrow.
I thought it would be great to do a service project on my birthday – so I sent out an e-mail to my friends and the rest is history.
The primary objective of the Burrito Project is to connect with people that have been displaced. The food is a tool to make a personal connection with people. More important, the people living on the streets now have someone praying for them.

There are a few ways you can become involved with the Burrito Project:
1) Active Support
a. Show up Sunday at 2:00pm
b. Food prep – making burritos
c. Packaging lunch bags
d. Loading cars & bikes

2) Passive Support
a. Prepare burritos offsite
b. Collect clothes
c. Donate supplies
d. Prayer support

What an amazing Sunday we had! The team got together early on Sunday to wait on the Lord and see where he wants us to take Burrito Project. We spent about an hour in prayer and shared any visions or revelations we may have had. We also assembled and distributed a record number of meals. Burrito Project is evolving and changing peoples’ lives on both sides.

The main message that came out of the prayer session was that we need to spend more time in prayer and seek the God’s direction. So as a result, we are now meeting every Sunday at 2pm, an hour before we start getting everything ready, to pray together and seek direction from the Lord.

What we did:

We served 129 people and were able to fellowship with many of them.

The team assembled and distributed 122 packed meals. Each consisted of water, a burrito, fruit, chips, snack, and napkin. Thanks Su Jung for making more then 40 burritos for us this week.

15 participants joined us to hand out the food and fellowship with the less fortunate we serve.

We visited two parks and the Armory; (La Palma park and Woodcrest park)

What we need:

Bottled Water

Packaged Snacks

Chips

Fruit

Socks

What you can do to help:

Prepare burritos at home with your family or small group and drop them off on Sunday.

Come help us assemble the packed meals at 1341 W. Baker Ave., Fullerton on Sunday at 3:00pm

Come out on your bike or in your car to the help hand out the food and fellowship.

Donate to the Newsong Cause Campaign.

Tommy,
That's great that you are serving the homeless in Charlotte. We bring and distribute whatever is donated to us, or that we purchase. The men, women and children out there I can imagine don't have a means to always wash the clothe they have or they just don't have enough clothing, hygiene and personal items. We've given tooth brush and tooth paste, mouth wash, soap, towels, underwear, socks, shoes, shirts, jackets, backpacks, blankets, gloves, beanies, rain pancho's, and of course food. Continue the great work and may God Bless you and your group.

I do the same thing in Charlotte (but we ride at 7:30 a.m. and deliver breakfast burritos and juice/water). I'm curious about expanding by taking some clothing. How often do you do shoes and socks? How easy are they to give away? What else have you given away that has been appreciated (we gave away hand warmers last winter).
